How We Work
MoleGuard exists for one job: mole control in Post Falls, Idaho. Not general pest control, not ten other animals — moles. There's a reason for the narrow focus: mole work done right requires specific knowledge (tunnel reading, trap mechanics, species behavior) that generalists rarely develop, and mole work done wrong wastes everyone's time.
The approach is straightforward and evidence-based. We identify the animal correctly first — because a remarkable number of "mole" problems turn out to be voles, and the fix is completely different. Then we map the active tunnel system using the same stomp-and-check method university extensions teach. Then we trap: below-grade scissor and choker traps on verified active runs, checked every two to three days, moved when they're not producing. When the new mounds stop for a full week, the territory is clear.
Then comes the part most mole services skip: the lawn and the future. Collapsed tunnels get flattened and leveled. Dead zones get overseeded at the right time of year. And we have the prevention conversation honestly — what drew the moles (usually irrigation), what the reinvasion pressure looks like from your specific surroundings (river greenway, farmland, golf course, new construction), and what ongoing management makes sense versus what's overkill.
What we won't do: sell you repellents, vibrating stakes, or any of the other unproven products that fill the internet's mole advice. We won't tell you grub control will solve it (it won't — earthworms are the main food). We won't promise the moles will never come back (biology doesn't allow that promise next to open space). What we will do is the method with actual evidence behind it, explain what we're doing and why, and tell you straight when waiting or doing nothing is the better call.
MoleGuard serves Post Falls, ID 83854 and nearby Kootenai County communities, from our location at 6005 W Seltice Way. If you're dealing with moles right now, our mole control page explains the full process — from trapping and exclusion to lawn repair. We work across all five Post Falls neighborhoods (see our areas served), or just get in touch / call (208) 925-9460 and describe what you're seeing.
